On Wednesday, October 20, 2010, Amy Gulick, award-winning nature photographer, will present her new book Salmon in the Trees: Life in Alaska’s Tongass Rain Forest at the Anchorage Museum. John Schoen, senior science advisor for Audubon Alaska, will also be joining Amy in this celebration of the Tongass National Forest. Salmon in the Trees tells the remarkable story of the Tongass National Forest, where trees grow salmon, and salmon grow trees. The Tongass is one of the rarest ecosystems on Earth – Gulick portrays a hopeful story of a national treasure worth conserving.
This free public presentation is sponsored by Braided River and Audubon Alaska. Alaska Wilderness League is proud to be a community partner for this event. The League is a leader in protecting Alaska’s wilderness by engaging citizens, sharing resources, collaborating with other organizations, educating the public, and providing a courageous, constant and victorious voice for Alaska in the nation’s capital.
